By the way...
Check out the hypertext accompaniment to my research paper!!!
This is my tiny little corner of the blogosphere to rant and rave about the things politicians and others say to make me angry.....
HA HA!! I figured it out!! Here is that link that I promised....
Anyway, other important things....Finals (ew.) are next week. Oh, and I finally got a vehicle. (My little car is so cute! 98 Mercury Tracer.....) Let's see, what else. hmmm...Ah. The trip to Rome. Right now I plan to take my laptop with me, and so hopefully I'll be able to update this blog from the convent we are staying in for fourteen days.
Nothing else much is going on...just trying to keep a 4.0 gpa and maintain my sanity amidst an upcoming seven finals. (wish me luck.)
| It feels so good to accomplish things, especially after spending about two weeks procrastinating. "If you wait until the last minute to do everything, it only takes a minute to get it done." So I have finished my research paper. YAY!!! And that means my works cited page is done as well. Here, for the first time in public, my research paper and works cited!!! Uhhh..ok. So i can't attach it from my computer. Well, enjoy the suspense until Monday!! |
On the upside, I am over half done on the patchwork quilt that I am making by hand for my grandmother. Ok, so it's not my research paper, but hey, I have a "life" too!
Yeah, so I am supposed to be posting my works cited page to my paper for Honors composition..you know, the one where I kvetch about women being held back in America? Well, lo and behold, I don't have it done yet. Hey, I just realized I'm not perfect. Ok, I will have it done later this week tomorrow with any luck.) Sorry about that. I am sure everyone was simply on the edge of their seats waiting for it. One more day won't hurt.
Looking back over the history of my blog (hasn't it grown!!) I realized that I started griping about the No Child Left Behind Act several weeks ago. Well, I finished a dissertation on such for my Honor's Discussion class; I will try to find a way to attach it later this afternoon.
I got sidetracked by the imbecile who impeded my good day.
To Terry Schiavo: Rest in peace. At 41 years of age, she passed away yesterday, finally succombing to death. God be with her, and with her family - all of them. It is disgusting that her husband and parents could not rise above their petty individual beliefs, and just let her go. Their bitter arguing, and the public voyeurism, could not have helped her in any way; now, she has peace. Death is one of those controversial issues, where ethics really aren't clear anymore; understandably people can be very selfish with it as well. We want to keep our loved ones always; sometimes, that simply is impossible, and holding onto life just for the sake of our memories is wrong. At the same time, fighting over it with someone's parents..going to court for "possesion" of another person...that is also wrong. While I agree with neither side of the argument, I am glad, for Terry, that it's over. In Pace requiescat
I was having a good morning. I got two extra hours of sleep, it's sunny and warm; I intended to proceed to the computer lab on campus and write a nice peaceful tribute to Tery Schiavo. BUT. As I walked across campus, some cretan had to call out "Nice Legs!" across the parking lot; I was the only other person there. Then he had to repeat himself, and when I didn't respond, felt the urge to express his true neandertal nature, and yell "hello!" several times, because obviously, I hadn't heard his raucous babblings of male testosterone already. Yes I am in a skirt. Yes, I know I have nice legs. That doesn't need brought to the attention of the entire campus, thank you very much. I am not on display, and I am not in college to be admired for my appearance. I have a mirror that tells me what I look like every morning. So what is it about men that as soon as a woman is in a skirt, they become examples of de-evolution? grrrrrrr....
